The Ford Bronco is Returning!

Back in 2017, Ford broke the news that the company was planning to bring the legendary Bronco SUV back to the American car buying public. Well, we have excellent news, as the buzz is building that the SUV, promised for 2020 delivery, may be released to dealerships this year.

Firm details are extremely scarce, as Ford isn't revealing much about the Bronco as of yet. However, Joe Hinrichs, Ford product head, has indicated that the 2020 Ford Bronco will be built on the same platform that supports the recently re-introduced Ranger pickup. With that news, it seems likely that the Bronco will also be powered by the same engine that propels the Ranger. That would mean the Bronco will come equipped with a 2.3-liter Ecoboost® inline-four engine that teams to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This set-up produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque in the Ranger, so the Bronco should deliver similar performance. We should share that there are rumors that the Bronco will come with a six-speed manual transmission instead of the automatic.

Based on industry resources, we expect to see the Bronco in both two-door and four-door models, and that the doors and roof will be removable -- making this a truly compelling vehicle to take off-road as often as possible. We invite our friends and neighbors from the Randolph NJ, Denville, Dover NJ, Morristown NJ, and Rockaway NJ areas to stay tuned for more updates about the 2020 Ford Bronco as we get closer to its release date!
